Have you experienced pregnancy and birth before and are now preparing to welcome another baby? Every pregnancy and birth is unique, and many parents find a refresher class incredibly helpful as they prepare for this next chapter.
Our Prenatal Refresher Class is a live, online class designed for parents who are expecting again and want a supportive, evidence-based review of labour, birth, and postpartum. This engaging class focuses on helping you feel informed, reassured, and prepared for this birth.
Topics covered include:
- What’s changed in maternity care since your last birth
- Signs of early versus active labour and when to go to the hospital or birth centre
- A review of labour and birth options, including pain management
- Comfort measures and partner support strategies worth revisiting
- Common interventions and how to navigate decisions if plans change
- Birth preferences and how to plan with flexibility
- Postpartum recovery and healing
- A brief refresher on breastfeeding
- Newborn care basics and preparing older siblings for the new arrival
- Preparing for life with a newborn and a growing family
Our instructors provide information specific to BC hospitals and also include guidance for those planning a home birth.
We’re proud to offer independent, unbiased prenatal education. Our classes are not sponsored by companies, and we never share or sell your information.
If you miss a class or would like to review the content again, you’re welcome to retake an upcoming session within 120 days at no extra cost. All participants also receive ongoing access to live “Ask the Educator” Q&A sessions for 120 days after their class, so you can ask follow-up questions as your due date approaches.

More Information About Our Classes
All of our classes are taught by experienced Registered Nurses who have additional speciality training in Perinatal Nursing and are Childbirth Educators. All of our instructors are actively working in healthcare facilities across BC and are passionate about working with expectant parents and newborns. We believe that everyone should have access to high-quality and affordable prenatal education.
We’re here for you before and after your class! Enjoy 120 days of access to live Ask the Educator Q&A sessions and the flexibility to retake your class anytime (provided we have spots available) within 120 days.
Our classes are taught using a wide variety of instructional methods including discussions, visual aids, diagrams, demonstrations, videos, birth stories, and hands on practice. For a list of topics discussed in this class, please see the topics image above.
Class Location
Our online classes are offered to anyone in BC. This allows you to participate in our classes from the comforts of your own home or from wherever you feel most comfortable. Specific information will be provided for the hospital you are planning to deliver at. Homebirth information will also be provided.

When Should I Take This Class and When Should I Register?
For an Evening Series class, we recommend that you take our classes between 28-33 weeks.
For a Prenatal in a Day class, we recommend that you take our classes between 30-36 weeks.
For a Private Prenatal class, we recommend that you schedule a class between 30-36 weeks.
Our classes can fill up quickly. We recommend that you register for our classes when you are between 20-22 weeks.
Cost
The cost for this class includes the expectant person and a support person. If you have additional people wanting to join you, please contact us for more information.
What Happens After I Register?
You will receive a confirmation email of your registration within 24-48 hours after purchasing/registering in a class. This email will include additional information and resources to prepare you for your upcoming classes with us along with all of the links required to join the virtual class. A confidential questionnaire will be included which will allow you to provide us with more information before classes start so we can tailor our classes to meet your needs.
Computer Requirements
Our online classes are taught via Zoom. You do not need to have an account with Zoom in order to join our classes, but it is recommended that you download their free app. Basic computer requirements include:
A High-Speed Internet Connection (one that allows you to stream video), Speakers, a Microphone, and a Webcam (our classes are interactive, and we need to be able to see each other)

Rescheduling, Refund, and Cancellation Policy
Purchasing one of our classes reserves your spot in that class. If your schedule changes after registration, you’re welcome to switch to another available session of the same class or series. Just email us to arrange the change. Cancellations made at least two weeks before your scheduled class begins are eligible for a refund, minus a $45 administrative fee. Cancellations made less than two weeks before the class start date are non-refundable. Please note that class registrations are non-transferable and may not be shared. If you deliver your baby before your class begins, please contact us to discuss your options.

Missed Classes and Class Access
We understand that pregnancy and life can be unpredictable. If you miss a class, don’t worry. You’ll have access to the same class or class series you originally registered in for up to 120 days from your start date.
During this time, you’re welcome to repeat any of your purchased class sessions as many times as you wish provided we have a spot available. Access applies only to the specific class or class package you registered for and does not include other courses or offerings.
